- It will be responsibility of the Members to ensure that in their premises no child labour prohibited by the Child Labour (Prohibition & Regulation) Act,1986 is employed. It will also be their responsibility to ensure that no order for manufacturing carpets/dhurries is given to nor raw material issued for weaving of carpets/dhurries on the loom which has not been registered or has been subsequently de-registered.

To overcome the problem of child labour, the Council has formulated a Code of Conduct for its Member-Exporters. The Code of Conduct requires its Members to ensure that his/her Carpets are woven only on the Looms registered by this Council having no child labour as prohibited by the Child Labour Prohibition & Regulation Act, 1986.

You may be aware that one of the conditions for Registration-cum-Membership Certificate (RCMC) is that every RCMC holder shall furnish quarterly returns of exports to the concerned registering authority. An extract of the Para 2.70 of Chapter-2 of Handbook of Procedures, Vol-1, 2004-2009 (updated as on 11th April,2008), in this regard is given below:
“Furnishing of Returns 2.70 - Exporters shall furnish quarterly returns/details of his exports of different commodities to concerned registering authority.”
